 Freshman Enrollment Steps

Step 1Admissions application

You can submit your admissions application on line. From the green site navigation box on the left, select "Apply Now!" You will be required to supply a four digit PIN that is unique to you. If you have already applied, please read and complete the steps below.

Step 2: Pay the admissions application fee

The application fee is payable online ($25 U. S. applicants/ $50 International applicants) using Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Step 3: Apply for Federal Financial Assistance

You must complete a FAFSA application if you want to apply for a Pell Grant, student loans, work study or other types of federal financial assistance. To access the application, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Step 4: Submit High School Transcript or GED to Admissions Office

If you are a graduate of a Louisiana high school, May 2003 and after, you are not required to request your high school transcript. It will be sent to Delgado via the Student Transcript System. If you are graduate from a Louisiana high school prior to May 2003 or if you are a non Louisiana high school graduate, or a GED recipient, you need to submit an official transcript of all high work, or GED diploma or scores.  

Step 4:  Submit proof of immunization

Submit proof of immunization compliance if born after 1956.

Step 5:  Submit proof of registration with selective service 

Proof of registration with the military selective service is required for male applicants between the ages of 18 and 25 (in compliance with State Law R.S. 17:3151). Register now with selective service at www.sss.gov.

Step 6:  Take placement assessment

A Delgado placement assessment is required unless your ACT scores indicate you have an 18 or better in English; 19 or better in math and a 17 or better in the reading. To schedule your placement assessment, call (504) 671-5080.

Step 8: Freshman orientation (OARS)

Students attending college for the very first time must attend freshman orientation. After you take your placement assessment, you will be given a date to attend freshman orientation.
